I Gave the Difficult Eulogy at My Father’s Funeral

Finding myself in the uncomfortable position of being the only family member who could give a tribute to my dad at his funeral, I knew that I really needed to do a good job, for both his sake and the sakes of the family who would be attending. I actually went to the library to look for a book that might have a sample eulogy that I could use as a model for what I wanted to say. My dad was a difficult and complicated man, but he also was capable of great love and tenderness. I just wish that we had been able to see those moments more often.
