Learn painting with easy landscapes
Painting people is really difficult, trying to get the face shape right, then the proportions of everything compared to the rest of the body, and finally getting the face to look right and not look like an alien, is incredibly difficult. That is why if you are just starting off then I recommend you concentrate on painting nature, as you have more room for error there and it will still look good. Grab yourself some landscape painting books and start to learn how to paint beautiful landscapes. These are relatively easy until you start adding in buildings, and look amazing once finished.
